The Social Housing Unit, Te Wāhanga Kāinga Pāpori, works with organisations that provide social and affordable housing, including not-for-profit, iwi, and private sector providers.
It allocates funding and facilitates partnerships, including land transfers and sale or lease of surplus state housing stock.
A funding round is taking place during 2011/12, as well as a series of forums for social housing providers.
This is the Unit’s first year of operation. How we work with the sector in future years is being developed.
